Location. The Velassaru is located in the South Male Atoll, Maldives, directly on the beach, 12 kilometres from the airport and capital island of Male. Hotel Features. This luxury secluded resort is made up of a series of thatched villas and bungalows on the fine white-sand of a private island. Guests can indulge in signature spa treatments or workout in the gym. The outdoor pool is lined with palms and sun beds.
Traditional Far Eastern dishes and locally caught seafood is served in the three restaurants with alfresco dining on the oceanfront. A wide selection of drinks and cocktails is offered at the sun set bar. A Complimentary breakfast is offered daily; the half-board rate includes breakfast and dinner, and the full-board rate includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
A diving school is set on the beach offering PADI certified diving courses and snorkelling equipment. Big game fishing and night fishing excursions are also available. Guests can also practise their serve on the tennis and volley ball courts.
Guestrooms. The 126 air-conditioned suites, villas, and bungalows have thatched roofs and private terraces with ocean views. Interiors are decorated in a contemporary style with stripped wooden floors, soft natural fabrics, and clean lines. Amenities include cable television, minibars, and coffee/tea facilities. The hotel offers half-board and full-board rates.
