GENERAL INFORMATION |

Meeru Island Resort, fondly known as Meeru by friends, offers a relaxing casual atmosphere. A large island by local standards, much of the island remains untouched, with its natural vegetation intact. It is certainly the resort for you if you would prefer to kick off your shoes and enjoy a casual atmosphere in which to relax.
The island is covered in soft white sand. The floors of the reception and other public areas too are layered with soft sand. As you approach the island you will be surprised at the lack of any man-made structures visible through the thick vegetation of the shoreline, fringed with tall coconut palms. Winding walkways lined with palm trees lead you to the reception with its thatched roofing that blends in perfectly with the natural surroundings. Meeru Island Resort is on the island of Meerufenfushi located at the easternmost point of North Male Atoll.
Located some 50 kilo-meters north of Male International Airport it is away from the rest of the resorts in the atoll. Meeru offers comfortable transfer to and from the airport by speedboat. Inside the comfort of the cool air-conditioned cabin watch the islands pass by as it speeds through North Male Atoll. Transfer time is one hour.

Dining
No fuss dining, just good food is the order of the day at Meeru. No dressing up to impress. Just stroll in from the beach or from your room and sit down and enjoy. The only house rule is, no wet suits or wet clothes are allowed in the dining area. There is one restaurant, two coffee shops and three bars where you will find everything you want, and at all hours of the day. So just continue to have fun and there'll be plenty of food on offer just when you want it.
The Farivalhu Restaurant
It is exclusively for guests staying in the Standard Rooms and Land Villas. Meals included in the price are served at the Main Restaurant. All meals are buffet, with the menu changing every day. Even on the hottest day the breeze wafts through this spacious restaurant. A tall sloping roof with cooling fans buzzing in the rafters.
Maalan Restaurant
The Maalan Restaurant is exclusively for guests staying at the Meeru Village. The restaurant feature all you can eat buffet style meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, served in the traditionally designed open-air, sand floor, thatch roof dining room.
Hungaanu Coffee Shop
Offering a wide choice of snacks, the coffee shop is a relaxed place overlooking the sea and next to the swimming pool where light meals can be served while you're lazing by the water. Room service is also available from the coffee shop up until 11.00 pm.
Dhoni Bar
Nestled next to the Coffee Shop, the Dhoni Bar spills out on to a wooden deck overlooking the sea, so you can sit and sip your cocktail next to the ocean. As well as the usual bar beverages, there's a list of cocktails to suit most tastes, and there's a daily cocktail special should you want to try something different every day. Poolside service is also available.
Uthuru Bar
The Uthuru Bar is located at the Meeru Village.
Kakuni Bar
This little corner bar, tucked away in the corner of the disco will serve cool drinks in between some energetic dancing. Take a breather and step out on to the beach to enjoy your drink before returning to the dance floor.
Asian Wok Beach Bar
Located at the tip of the island, this secluded little bar will keep swimmers and snorkelers using the little beaches overlooking the lagoon fully refreshed. Informal and friendly, this is an ideal haunt for beach babies. Tucked away at one end of the island this is a popular location throughout the day. It is ideal too for a snack or a light meal. The restaurant offers a variety of delicious meals, specializing in Thai, Indian, and Chinese and Maldivian cuisine may be enjoyed in pleasant surroundings on the open air deck shaded by the trees surrounding it.

The Hagern, serving a grilled seafood menu aboard a restaurant yacht anchored in the lagoon.
Sports
Although Meeru is perfect for a relaxing holiday just lazing on the beach we also have a wide selection of activities for those people who want to enjoy some exciting land or water sports. You can have loads of fun, both in, out of and on the water, so you won't be able to complain of having nothing to do.
Meeru Water Sports Center
The Meeru Water Sports Centre is well equipped for wind surfing. Boards and sails suitable for beginners and advanced surfers are available. In addition to this we have children's equipment. The conditions at Meeru are ideal for to learn wind surfing. Courses are conducted in English. Catamarans and canoes are also available for your enjoyment and fun.
Land Sports
It's almost impossible to spend all your time in the water, but you'll find plenty to do on the land also. At Meeru a swimming pool, tennis court, table tennis and football are all available, and for those who prefer more relaxed games, a selection of board games is there to be enjoyed. The Meeru Sports Centre houses a fully equipped modern gymnasium.
Night Fishing
The Maldives is the perfect place for a spot of fishing. The waters at Meeru are literally teeming with fish. In addition to the excitement of fishing itself this is a highly rewarding experience considering the pleasing relaxation this offers. As the name implies, this type of fishing is generally carried out at night, aiming to catch delicious reef fish, and of course the big ones, especially the red snapper that Maldivians consider to be the best catch and the most delicious. A boat takes you to a reef and anchors just before sunset. The sun disappears down the horizon saluting the world with a bright display of dazzling coolers. The lines are equipped with hook and sinker, the weight of which depends on the strength of the currents. The idea is to drop the line overboard and let it sink until it almost touches the bottom. The crew prepares the lines with bait-usually fresh tuna from the kitchen stores. Now it is time to relax, holding the line with your finger tips monitoring the activity around the hook and bait. Don't let the fish fool you, so that after some time when you pull in the line you find that the bait has been eaten away completely. As you feel the fish pecking at the bait you could slowly drag the line or pull it up, daring the fish to snap at it, thinking that its dinner is escaping. It is not uncommon to haul in 30 or more fish within three hours.
Diving
Many visitors come to the Maldives to enjoy the unique, beautiful under water scenery. With excellent dive sites in the area Meeru is the ideal choice for a diving holiday. More than 50 dive spots offer something for everyone.
Leisurely dives on reefs protected from strong currents exciting drift dives in channels and wreck dives. The marine life includes a fantastic variety of hard and soft corals, dense schools of reef fish and regular encounters with dolphins, sea turtles and pelagic fish like Manta Rays, Eagle Rays, Sharks, Barracudas and Tunas.
Ocean-Pro also offers snorkelling excursions and courses. On these popular trips 2 reefs are visited and dolphins, turtles and rays can be seen.

Meeru Island Resort offers a choice in the type of accommodation for your stay on Meeru. All are comfortable and provides all the basic amenities. However some provide more comforts than the others with more space and privacy. All the rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with ceiling fan. All provide the convenience of en suite bathroom, IDD telephone and mini fridge.
Standard Rooms
The standard rooms are for those who do not feel the need to be pampered with additional comforts. These are built in units of four or five but offers simple uncluttered comfort inside.
Set amidst lush tropical vegetation all 58 rooms are furnished with tropical cane furniture and the cool tiled floor offer welcome respite at the end of a hot day. All have verandas facing the beach.
Twenty Six of the rooms offer the luxury of an enclosed semi-open-air garden inside the en suite bathrooms. All are fully tiled and fitted.
Standard Rooms
Built in units of four or five, all facing the beach, the 58 standard rooms offer simple, uncluttered comfort. Cane furniture on a cool tiled floor offer welcome respite at the end of a hot day, and cheerful tropical plants surrounding the rooms remind you that you're on an island paradise.
The bathrooms of 20 of these units are partially open, overlooking an indoor garden. All are fully tiled and fitted.
Land Villas
Fringing the island, and set back behind the beach vegetation, a row of 77 villas stretch out along the west side of the island to complete the effect of a village.
These pine chalets with their wide, shaded verandas offer a cool retreat at the end of an action packed day. Deck chairs are provided to sit on as you watch the sun go down, or relax and read in a quiet moment.
Inside, the chalet rooms are spacious and airy. A ceiling fan whirrs gently, and the room has a sitting area by the full window overlooking the veranda. A bed and side tables with Tiffany-style reading lamps add a touch of class.
A dressing area with wardrobe leads into an open air, fully fitted, white tiled bathroom.
Jacuzzi Villas
They are larger Land Villas with a private, walled-in outdoor area featuring a Jacuzzi for two "under the stars", a wooden sundeck with chaise, lounges, a shade Pavilion, a small tropical garden, cable TV and a CD player.
Water Villas
Step outside and dip your toes in the sea in one of the 27 water villas while the sun comes up. These carefully sited rooms afford breathtaking sea views.
Sit on the balcony and listen to the breakers crash on to the reef in the distance, or step down on to the deck to sunbathe with the waves lapping gently underneath you.
A few more steps take you right into the sea. Inside the pinewood lined rooms, a big comfortable 4-poster bed awaits at the end of the day, or if you want to relax before turning in, a sitting area with armchairs and coffee table are provided.
Enjoy the natural warmth of a wood floor underfoot. A discreet white tiled, partially open bathroom where you can shower next to a little garden, adds the final touch of style.

Transfers
Transfers are mandatory
• Daytime return speedboat transfer will come at a rate of USD 88.00 per adult and USD 49.00 per child aged between 2 and 12. Infants are free of charge basis.
• Night time return speedboat transfer will come at a rate of USD 138.00 per adult and of USD 74.00 per child aged between 2 and 12. Infants are free of charge basis.
• Return speedboat transfers (one way day time and one way night time) will come at a rate of USD 118.00 per adult and of USD 64.00 per child aged between 2 and 12. Infants are free of charge basis.
• Return seaplane transfer will come at a rate of USD 210.00 per adult and USD 117.50 per child ages 2-12 years. Infants are free of charge basis.
Optional Meal Supplements
The All Inclusive supplement will be of USD 30.00 per day per adult.
Payment Requirements
For your convenience, Internet Travel Group offers secure online payments with the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please note that, should you prefer, you are able to supply your credit card information by fax. We are unable to accept your reservation request without credit card details, though you will only be billed once your booking has been confirmed, the credit card information verified and our confirmation voucher sent to you by email.

The full amount will be charged at the moment of confirmation.
Cancellation Policy
• Cancellations received 11 days or more prior to arrival, a 20% of the full amount will apply as a cancellation fee.
• Cancellations received 10 days or less prior to arrival will result in the full amount being charged as a cancellation fee.
• No shows and early department will result in the full amount being charge as a cancellation fee.
• No refunds for early departures.
Children Policy
• Children over the age of 12 are considered adults.
• Children requiring their own room are charged as adults.
Children aged between 0-12 years
Between 1st January and 31st October 2008
• USD 51.00 per day in Land Villa for children aged between 2 and 12.
• USD 10.00 per day in Land Villa for infants aged 2 and under.
• Children are not allowed in other roomtypes.
Children Optional Meal Supplements
The All Inclusive supplement will come at a rate of USD 15.00 per child per day.

Price & Payment
Unless otherwise stated, at the time of booking only a deposit is due. The remanining balance is payable on check-in and charged by the hotel direct. hotel-savings.com accepts Visa, Mastercard & American Express.
For security purposes, should your reservation incur a charge in excess of USD 400.00, you must submit a signed credit card authorization form. This will be supplied upon confirmation of the reservation. If you fail to fax across this documentation within 48 hours, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation. Please note that as per our cancellation policy, there may be a fee for this.
Flight Information
If you are to arrive at your hotel after 5pm, please provide Hotelrentalgroup with your flight information, so that we may be able to advise the hotel of what time they can expect you. Should your flight be delayed, we strongly recommend that you contact the hotel directly to inform them of this.
Period of Stay / Rate Calculation
All stays are calculated and sold "per night". We can only guarantee a room until noon (12pm). Late check-outs can be requested at the moment of reservation in the additional comments box, but may come at an additional fee (usually 50% of the nightly rate).
Cancellation Policies & Charges
Cancellations must be received in writing by e-mail, with as much notice as possible. Penalty fees may apply. Please check the terms & conditions, as these policies vary from hotel to hotel.

No Shows
No Shows will result in a 100% penalty fee.
Reservation & Confirmation
All reservations made on the web sites operated by hotel-savings.com will receive a temporary confirmation number. This temporary number does not mean that the hotel room is available and is only for administrative purposes. Your final confirmation will be sent to you on your official confirmation voucher within 24 hours, unless, due to unforeseen circumstances, the hotel does not get back to us within this time frame. hotel-savings.com is not responsible for any such delays.
Early departures
In addition to the standard cancellation policy, we would like to stress the point that the hotels are very strict regarding changes to the length of clients’ stays. Therefore we would like to inform you that clients departing before their booked check out date will be charged for the remaining nights and, no being made for unused nights.
Check In & Check Out Policy
Your room will be made available to you from 14h00 (unless stated otherwise in the terms & conditions of the hotel). Should you require a guaranteed early check in, the room must be booked and paid for in full for the day preceeding your stay.
Check out time is 12:00 hrs. For a guaranteed late check-out, clients should book for an additional night, charged at 100%.
