Location. The Anantara Veli Resort Maldives is located on Dhigufinolhu in the South Male Atoll, Republic of Maldives. Male International Airport is 35 minutes away by speedboat.
Hotel Features. Spread over the two lush, tropical islands of Dhigufinolhu and Veligandu Huraa, with their sandy beaches and coral reefs, the Anantara Resort offers air-conditioned fitness centres, spa facilities and massage and beauty treatments, and a beachfront infinity swimming pool. There is an onsite boutique, and 24-hour room service.
The Anantara Veli Resort features several dining options. The Fuddan Fusion Grill offers seafood specialities, and Baan Huraa serves Thai. Seventy-three Degrees overlooks the lagoon, and serves tropical breakfasts and international dishes in light and airy Maldivian-style thatched-roofed pavilion. Terrazzo serves Italian dishes and wines. Fushi Café serves buffet dishes and overlooks the beach. The Dhoni bar is located by the pool and specialises in cocktails, and the Aqua Bar has a swim-up area.
Sailing excursions or seaplane flights can be arranged. Deep-sea fishing and sunset dhoni cruises alongside dolphins are available. Anantara features its own PADI dive centre, and water skiing is possible on the lagoon.
Guestrooms. The hotel features 50 air-conditioned beach villas and over-water bungalows with private waterfront sundecks above the clear, warm water of the lagoon. The bungalows are connected to the island by wooden walkways. The bathrooms include bathtubs and rain showers, and bathrobes and slippers are provided. All guestrooms are equipped with satellite televisions, DVD players, CD players, direct-dial phones, Internet access, coffee and tea facilities, and minibars. A daily newspaper and bottled water are complimentary.
